Access to Healthcare Services

Access to comprehensive, quality health care services is important for promoting and maintaining health, preventing and managing disease, reducing unnecessary disability and premature death, and achieving health equity for all Americans.  Access to health care impacts one's overall physical, social, and mental health status and quality of life. Shelby County efforts to assure access to preventive and primary healthcare consist of programs and partners who provide services to uninsured residents, provide regular preventive services and recommended screenings, and capable, qualified and competent providers.
